In addition to its excellent electric and thermal conductivity, copper is a nonmagnetic metal, of good corrosion resistance.

The mechanical strength of copper can be increased by cold deformation  called work hardening which increases the breaking load, yield stress and hardness.

Only a few alloys are hardened byhardening - tempering heat treatment.
